Who does it best?

Public workshop

Peace and war made in Europe

6–8pm

How must Europe, which has relied on trade and various civilisational indicators, now behave if brute military power is to count again? Europe, and especially Germany, the most powerful country in the European Union, is not in a position to defend itself militarily today. What should Europe's contribution to the global peace order look like in the future?
Keynote speech
"No dictatorship with all its policemen, soldiers, judges and prisons can ban the future."
Mikhail Shishkin

Swiss-Russian writer Mikhail Shishkin
explains in an introduction why freedom and democracy always prevail in the end.

Public Workshop
Let's be visionary and hyper-realistic: let's dream the dream of a European foreign and security policy that

- guarantees the military security of Europe
- secures prosperity in Europe
- clearly and unequivocally stands up for European values.

Now, how do we get that done?
In particular, how do we resolve

– the question of how Europe should confront authoritarian and nationalist challenges both within and outside the Western community.
– and the issue of Europe's contribution to the global peace order. And the question to what extend the so called European values do shape the European actions.

These leading European and American experts in peace research, politics, economics and media will discuss these questions with you:
